Great solution to something not covered by warranty.,
Better than giving $199 to Apple, January 3, 2011
The good:
1. Price-a cracked LCD and the resulting dead pixel spread is NOT covered under warranty no matter how it happened. Apple wants $199 to replace the LCD. I have better things to spend my money on. This is an eight the price.
2. You get everything you need-You get the LCD, plus all the tools you’ll need to replace it. This is fantastic. No hunting around for random tools from all over the house. convenient.
3. Shipping–I ordered this over Christmas break. They shipped it out right away and I had it days later, packed well in bubble wrap AND a padded envelope. Everything arrived in good condition.
The not so good, but not quite bad:
1. Know what you’re getting–the LCD, once it’s replaced and turned on, is obviously not the same quality as the original-the color is duller, the display less crisp, I’m guessing resolution is not the same. HOWEVER, this is an eighth the price. The display isn’t bad, it’s just very obviously not the same as what ships with the phone directly from apple. In the interest of full disclosure, this should really be stated in the product details/specs. Is the disparity enough for me to raise a big stink over? Not really.
2. The product details also say this ships with a mini bright LCD keychain flashlight. Not true. I’m not upset I don’t have a flashlight keychain, but again, on principle, don’t tell me I’m getting something that I’m not.
3. There is no link to an instructional video so you have to find your own. I am a completely clueless novice at this…i have no computer/tech/repair background and am uncomfortable poking around the guts of a computer. That said, I watched numerous videos and found this to be the most useful *** NOTE that your cable 3 bracket may be BLACK instead of WHITE…most videos will tell you it’s white.
SO…bottom line, know what you’re getting into. Despite being a novice at this kind of thing, the replacement was successful, took no more than an hour’s worth of sweat and stress. When I reassembled my iPhone and discovered I had not killed it, I was VERY happy I didn’t give Apple my $199 and spent $25 here instead.

|Do Not Use This Company!,
I ordered two products from this company on March 11. Only one part of the order came on March 24th. I used the Amazon customer feedback immediately. I waited until Monday March 28th to write a poor review having still not been contacted by the seller. I was immediately contacted within 5 minuets of writing the review by the president of the company begging me to remove the bad review he said he would refund the full order and ship the part. I told him it was not necessary to issue a refund if he could just send it overnight or two day delivery he said he would do it right away and thanked me for understanding. I waited for the part to come 2 days later. and it did not arrive. I contacted the company again they said let me check on it and get back to you they never returned the status of the order Wednesday. I waited again for the mail on Thursday No item came. I contacted again and the guy acted like he had never heard of me. I refreshed his memory. It still had not been shipped. I asked again for it to be sent over night he said two day was the best he could do. I reluctantly said ok. Here it is Saturday nothing in the mail again 22 days after the initial order. I would never recommend ordering from this seller. They obviously do not have time to run a company successfully.

|Fantastic Replacement,
This is a great replacement screen. I purchased it after I may or may not have ruined my previous LCD while replacing the glass. Anyway, strong-handing an iPhone…not recommended.
The LCD went in without issue and looks as good as the original. The phone has been in use for months now with the replacement and I have not had a single issue with it at all. I would recommend this if you need to replace the LCD on your iPhone 3GS. While it comes with a tool set that works well, I found it was a bit more difficult to get my iPhone apart than most instructions seemed. I will rack it up to my own screw-ups though, not necessarily the tools themselves.
